On Monday and Tuesday, the grade 3 students worked on creating slideshows about Traditional Cultural Dances with the information that they researched last week.
Along with presenting their slideshow to the class they also needed to demonstrate and lead the class in one of the dances!
So far we’ve had a variety of dances from ballet, to hula to soran bushi and more! It has been great seeing some of the students being real risk-takers as they try out new things.
In math, we have been also looking at the attributes of 2D forms- called polygons!
In language, we worked on developing our writing skills by coming up with ideas for personal narratives by thinking of places that are meaningful to us and then drawing a map of it. Doing so helped us to recall or remember small moments or stories that happened in that place. Students also took some time to share their stories verbally with their classmates, which in turn also helped them develop the story and inspire others to tell similar stories.
Finally, on Friday a special visitor dropped off some chocolate eggs and the grade 3 students had some fun hunting for them around the class!
