Back from Spring Break Dance Time!

Welcome back everyone! I hope everyone had a nice spring break. Mine was …eventful…as I caught the Coronavirus and was quarantined away from my family for a week as nobody else had it.

Mr. Lubin took care of the class in my absence and we made sure that the students continued working on multiplication and division word problems in math, spelling and writing personal narratives about someone special to them, and on finding out about different types of cultural dances in unit.

Students have each chosen a country or a culture to research and find out about 2-3 different kinds of traditional cultural dances they do and why they dance. Next week they will be creating short slideshows and sharing their research with their classmates. Those who didn’t complete the research in the 3 days that they were given have been asked to complete the research over the weekend so that they can work on their slideshow presentations from Monday. One requirement in addition to their slideshow, is to demonstrate a few dance steps from one of their chosen culture’s dances! I’m looking forward to learning different types of cultural dance from a bit of ballet to even a bit of breakdancing!
